The Adele H. Stamp Student Union, specifically Multicultural Involvement & Community Advocacy (MICA), recognizes this month as Existence is Resistance. This theme celebrates all the ways that black people resist historic and ongoing systemic racism, discrimination, and exploitation. Our continued existence and community shows that to resist does not only mean we must endure violence, death, and brutality. Resistance is also found in the ways that we build community with each other, how we love each other, and how we prioritize our well-being and happiness. This Black History Month we recognize and celebrate that just to live is a radical act.
