"Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson is indeed making history. But she is coming into her position on the court handcuffed and shackled, and African Americans are going to bear the most severe pain of any demographic from the next Supreme Court term."

Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, referred as K.B.J., made history as the first Black woman Associate Justice entering into the United States Supreme Court. While her representation remains groundbreaking, Nichols believes K.B.J. will face adversity as a minority on a majority Conservative court following a serial agenda to reverse verdicts for cases supporting civil rights, especially affecting the Black community. From voting rights to environmental justice to health benefits, Nichols theorizes that K.B.J. must remain resilient in defending the Black community and the Democratic party must play offense and gain support during midterms to prevent harm decided by the right-winged Conservative court.
