Dr. Rianna Walcott is an Assistant Professor of Communication at the University of Maryland, and Associate Director of the Black Communication and Technology (BCaT) Lab. Her research explores Black (and digital) communication practices, locating a nascent ‘Black British’ identity within the wider Black diaspora. Dr. Walcott leads the 'Black Homeplaces' project, an inter-institutional, collaborative research project exploring diasporic Black place-making practices in and through domestic spaces.
