Dr. Leslie is an associate professor at University of Maryland. She teaches courses in gender and ethnicity issues in service delivery, feminist family therapy, and assessment and diagnosis. She holds a Ph.D. in human development and family studies from Pennsylvania State University, with a pre-doctoral internship in clinical-community psychology from Yale University, School of Medicine. She is the author of numerous book chapters and over 30 journal articles focusing of topics related to feminist therapy, minority families, and gender issues in families. She has conducted numerous evaluations of psychoeducational programs in areas such as couples communication, parent education, and promoting emotional resiliency in children.
