It is with great excitement that we announce our third and last installment of a series of Brown Bag Seminar events for the Spring 2022 semester in the Department of African American Studies at the University of Maryland!

Senior Lecturer, Dr. Jason Nichols, will be leading the next Brown Bag event on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 from 12:30pm – 2pm EDT.

The title of Dr. Nichol’s discussion is “And the White Man Gets Paid Off of All That: Kanye West, Mental Health, Black Manhood, and Materialism"

Dr. Jason Nichols, award-winning and news-featured Senior Lecturer, discusses: “And the White Man Gets Paid Off of All That: Kanye West, Mental Health, Black Manhood, and Materialism.” Dr. Nichols will be conducting a special segment discussing Kanye West and the understanding of racial capitalism, [hetero-normative] Black masculinity, materialism, and its foreseen impact on mental health, identity formation, and marginalization.
