"It [the role of the monarchy] cuts into your dignity as a citizen... It reduces you psychologically in terms of being a citizen of your nation, and then you have public officials who have to swear allegiance to this sovereign who is not a part of their reality.” – Sir Hilary Beckles

On Wednesday, October 5, 2022 from 4:00pm-6:00pm, the Department of African American Studies, the Judge Alexander Williams Jr. Center for Education, Justice and Ethics (JAWC), and Nyumburu Cultural Center invites all to attend this special event titled, "Decolonizing the (Un)Commonwealth: Pan-African Perspectives on the Movement for Reparations and the Legacy of Colonialism" in the Nyumburu Multipurpose Room at the Nyumburu Cultural Center.
